Chicago Ballet Arts Dress Code

Level Requirements

Preparatory Division: Any color Leotard

Pre Ballet: Any Light/Pastel Pink Leotard

Ballet 1 & 2: Any Light/Powder Blue Leotard

Ballet 3 & 4: Any Burgundy Leotard

Ballet 5: Any Royal Blue Leotard

Ballet 6: Dark Purple Leotard (Viola/Prune)

Ballet 7: Any Navy Leotard

Ballet 8: Any Black Leotard

Modern, & Enrichment Divisions: Any Color Leotard

Leotards

Please see above for specific color information for levels. “Any leotard” means that any style is acceptable in that specific level’s color.

For Level Ballet 6, dark purple is the required color. We recommend the Ballet Rosa Yolanda in Viola (preferred) or the Wear Moi Faustine in Prune.

Tights

Any tights allegro carries are acceptable for class. However, convertible tights are recommended in Ballet 5 and above. Please note that Ballet levels 5-8 need mesh tights with a backseam, in Ballet Pink or Flesh Tone, for performances.

Shoes

Female identifying dancers should choose flesh tone or pink (coordinate with color of tights). Male identifying dancers should choose black or white. Leather or canvas shoes may be worn.

Pointe Shoes (requires instructor approval)

-Wear Moi

-Mirella

Please note that dancers are not permitted to have the full stretch ribbons.

Skirts

Skirts may be worn for Pointe & Variations.
